Small ( 5 1/2", 13cm ) in stature but big on charm is this rare Gebruder
Heubach all bisque boy doll incised " 10698 4/0 " on the back of this torso.
He has a one piece head and torso with joints at the shoulder and hips. The
hands are outstretched with palms extended and the feet have molded and
painted white socks and brown shoes with a single strap, as typically found
on this Gebr. Heubach all bisque characters. Because of his huge side
glancing painted intaglio blue eyes and open/closed mouth in a surprised
elated expression he might even be considered to be at least a semi- googly.
Regardless he is a rare and great little doll and even still wears his
original one piece red crepe paper chemise. US$ 425.

5 1/2" ( 13ccm ) swivel neck
so-called " French " all bisque , or mignonette, most likely made by
Simon-Halbig, with cornflower stationary glass eyes, closed, slightly
smiling mouth, with solid dome head covered by a long human hair wig with a
long braid in back tied with a pink silk ribbon bow, long one piece arms
with cupped hands, bisque torso , and long bisque legs with molded brown
boots with heels, exposing tops of white socks with blue edge trim. She
wears a long green brocade dress with pink ribbon bows, lace underclothes,
and a tightly woven hat with silk ribbons. All bisque parts are perfect but
the tips of the fingers on the left hand are a bit flatter as they did not
come out of the perfectly. The color is pink, rather than white which
indicates they are not chipped. These " French " mignonettes are so hard to
find and this one is sure to please any advanced collector of all bisque
dolls. SOLD. (THANKS
ASHTON!)
