Stunning 18" ( 46 cm. ) Jumeau bebe incised " DEPOSE E 8 J " on the head and stamped in blue on the torso " JUMEAU MEDAILLE D'OR PARIS ", with wonderful liquid blue paperweight eyes, finely painted lashes and fully painted lips, pierced ears, highlighted nostrils and accent dots in eye corners, and evenly painted facial coloring. She is mounted to the original straight wrist body with near mint original finish by a coil spring. Also she is elegantly attired in a pleated wool wine colored dress with brass buttons and ecru lace trim, antique brown leather shoes, an antique light blue corduroy and light blue silk hat with original ribbon tying under the chin, and an antique blond mohair wig. No apologies need to be made for this doll in any respect and is the quintessential " EJ " bebe from the early 1880's. US$6,950.

Beautiful Jules Steiner bebe with slightly unusual expression with head incised " Sie C 1 " and written in red script " Steiner Bte. S.G.D.G. Paris Bourgoin " standing 16 1/4" (41 cm. ). The original body is in fantastic clean original condition and is fully jointed with straight wrists and characteristic short stubby fingers and on the front of the lower torso is a paper sticker reading " AU NAIN BLEU E. CHAUVIERE Boul. des Capucines PARIS". The doll has a pursed closed mouth, finely decorated eyebrows and lashes, light brown paperweight eyes ( uncommon in an early Steiner ) and nice even cheek coloring. The two piece red white and navy blue sailor costume appears to be original as does the incredible full light blond mohair wig . The undergarments are all antique as are the crocheted white stockings and black leather shoes with buckles. This is a wonderful, nearly pristine early doll in most desirable cabinet size! US$ 8,750.

Lovely 20 1/2" ( 51 cm. ) Jumeau bebe with INCISED markings " DEPOSE JUMEAU 9 " as well as a few red artist initials, featuring closed mouth, well painted lashes and brows, blue paperweight eyes in narrow eye cuts typical of this model, pierced ears, and attached to the original body by a coil spring, having straight wrists and fine original painted finish with only minor age wear of a few joints and fingertips. It is signed " JUMEAU MEDAILLE D'OR PARIS ' with the typical blue stamp. The clothing is all antique and consists of a midnight blue velvet dress with ecru lace trim on sleeves and edge of front center panel, antique undergarments and socks and pale blue cloth shoes ( not Jumeau shoes ) and wearing a thick antique blond French mohair wig over cork pate, as well as an antique black velvet hat adorned with cloth flowers. These so-called " Incised Depose " models were allegedly only manufactured for one year and preceded the so-called " Tete Jumeau " bebes and according to research done by the Colemans were the last of the Jumeau dolls produced with the " pressed bisque " heads. ........US$ 5,950.

Classic 20" ( 51 cm. ) Jumeau 1890's child with red stamp on head " DEPOSE TETE JUMEAU Bte S.G.D.G. 9" with closed mouth, lovely blue paperweight eyes, well painted fine eyelashes, thick multistroke evenly arched eyebrows, pierced ears, on the original fully jointed French body with the unusual stamp of " Brevete Jumeau". The finish is original and in overall very good condition with slight typical wear and flaking at a few joints and fingers. She has been well costumed in a pale mint green silk pleated dress and matching hat with boa fathers and antique pink silk ribbons which tie under the chin. her undergarments are antique and the blue canvas shoes are old but as old ad the doll . The wig is lovely antique blond mohair and covers the antique French dark hard compound pate. US$ 3,950.
