24" ( 60cm ) Kammer and Reinhardt in wonderful large size, incised " K&*R 114 60 " with the much rare blue glass sleep eyes, closed mouth with superior lip modeling giving her that exaggerated pouty expression, one stroke eyebrows that are thick on the inside and extend only about two thirds across above the eyes, and on the original fully jointed pink wood and composition body in overall very good original condition. She wears a long antique honey mohair wig, an antique two piece costume with indigo wool top which buttons on the left with brass buttons and a herringbone skirt with matching sash and high neck collar , as well as a blue wool sailor type hat with red wool pompom, all antique undergarments, and rust colored cotton- silk stockings and antique brown leather " Keystone " shoes with burgundy rosettes stamped " 4" on the soles with two buttons on each leather ankle strap. As with most of the K&R characters she has some typical wig pulls but they are fully covered when the wig is in place . She has good coloring for this type of doll, neither too pale nor too rosy, and exhibits the finest of facial modeling which seems to only come out in these larger examples . US$ 11,500.

Despite it's height of only 13 1/2" ( 34cm ) this Kestner googly appears much larger due to it's large head circumference and fat toddler body with straight wrists. The head is incised " F. made in Germany 10 J.D.K. 221 " and has huge brown glass stationary eyes ( original setting ) which look down and glance to the left. She has a wide smiling " watermelon slice " closed mouth and yellow eyebrows with a slight enameled glaze . The body is original and has fine original finish with slight discoloration from age. She is wearing a beautiful antique ash blond mohair wig with original orange hair ribbon bow, and antique scarlet knit dress with green trim, as well as canvas shoes ( old but not as old as the doll ). If one could only have one googly this would be the one! US$ 7,950.

This 14 1/2" ( 37cm ) toddler from Cuno and Otto Dressel- Simon Halbig is incised " 1488 SIMON & HALBIG 6 " with a diamond shaped cut out on the back of the head, an open/closed mouth (but no teeth showing ), pale blue glass sleep eyes, painted upper and lower lashes and feathered eyebrows, with deep indentations in the modeling around the sides of the eyes and eyelids. He is on an unusual antique German composition toddler body which is jointed at the knees, hips ( typical toddler diagonally cut joints ) and one piece curved arms, all parts original to this unique body. Wearing the original bobbed ash blond mohair wig and an antique white cotton gauze and lace boys dress, and slightly newer white cloth shoes and white cotton socks, he is indeed a lovely cabinet sized version of this always popular doll and is actually harder to find one in this cute size than it is to find the much larger examples. US$ 3,200.

11" ( 28cm ) rare cabinet size googly from Hertel and Schwab with the head incised " 172 2/0 "with closed smiling mouth with well defined upper lip, blue glass sleep eyes looking to the right, well painted lashes and multistroke " feathered " eyebrows, and molded and painted hair with three curly tufts of hair, one in the center forehead, and one above each ear, definitely trying to capitalize on the popularity of the Rose O'Neill Kewpie without actually infringing on the O'Neill copyright. He is on a beautiful German wood and composition fully jointed toddler body with diagonal hip joints in excellent original condition, and wears an antique regional costume consisting of a blue felt jacket with large brass buttons, orange felt short trousers and suspenders , green and gray socks with patent leather black shoes with buckles. The 172 is a harder mold number to acquire than many of the other Hertel Schwab googly molds and this example is not only good quality but endearing as well. US$ 4,250.
