Very nice 16 1/2" ( 42cm ) Kathe Kruse " Doll I " boy with one piece head and body with cloth joints at shoulders and swivel diagonal hip joints. The head is molded and oil painted cloth and the rest of the body is hard stuffed muslin with separately stitched toes and fingers with separately sewn thumb. The original painted head and facial features are in overall very good shape with very slight wear at seam in hair on right upper side and a slight dent and paint loss at curl edge on right upper forehead. He wears a white linen shirt and matching short pants, a blue long bib style tunic with maroon edging and knit booties. Lots of personality here on this always popular doll! US$ 3,800.

14" ( 35cm ) Lenci boy with "Lucia "-style face, with pale blue painted side glancing eyes, looking to the left, with blond bobbed mohair wig, covered by a black felt cap with scalloped red edging. The costume consists of a white linen shirt, a short sleeved forest green waist coat edged in red felt, camel colored knee length pleated trousers with two brass buttons on each leg, ( perhaps meant to simulate lederhosen ). The two toned knit socks are turned down just above the ankles and the felt shoes match the pants. In his arms he holds an large woven wicker basket full of colorful felt flowers. He has no remaining Lenci tags but there are some loose threads on the right side of the pants where a paper or cloth tag probably once was. Except for some minor surface dust he is in overall very good condition and totally original. US$ 895.

14" ( 35cm ) Lenci child from the early 1930's with the " Lucia " face in her elaborate colorful ethnic costume representing one of the southern provinces of Italy. The only identifying feature is a smudged stamp on the bottom of her right foot, but she has the zigzag stitching on the back of her neck as well as the second and third fingers stitched together on both hands. She has brown painted side glancing eyes, a black mohair wig with center part drawn into two tight braids wrapping around and covering both ears. The costume consists of a purple felt skirt with horizontal fuchsia band at the bottom of the skirt with two more narrow bands on each side, one yellow and one pale green. The same green is used for the long sleeve blouse which is edged in yellow with crisscrossed green ties which is covered by a white organdy shawl. There is an apron of the identical organdy tied around her waist, and she also wears a bead necklace and brass hoop earrings. The undergarments consist of white linen pantaloons and half slip, both edged in fuchsia felt. The socks are white cotton and the shoes are one piece black felt slippers. The overall condition is very good with good coloring on the face with just some minor typical surface dust and a few miniscule moth holes on the clothing. US$ 595.
