Beautiful pair of early Steiff teddies, 10" ( 25cm ) each with white plush mohair, jointed at head, shoulders, and hips, with so-called " shoebutton " eyes, brown horizontally stitched nose, mouth, and "claws ", long arms, hump on back, and both having original felt paw pads with no repairs or replacements. The " boy " has a blank metal button in the left ear, has a slightly wider face and snout, and is especially clean and bright and wears an antique green silk ribbon around his neck. His " female " companion is the same height, but has an ever so slightly more narrow face and distinctive snooty turned up nose. She no longer has her ear button but is undoubtedly Steiff. She also is in very good condition but perhaps has a slight more tinge of gold acquired with age although still very white indeed. She wears an antique two piece printed cotton dress with lace trimmed collar. The underpants and under slip are slightly newer than the period blouse and skirt outerwear. An amazing pair of pre WWI white bears. We hope they can stay together and are Boy SOLD, $2,250 for the girl.

A rare 4 1/2" ( 11.5cm ) Steiff dressed " Teddy Baby " miniature figure from the early 1950's with swivel neck and jointed at the shoulders and hips and wearing the original plaid print cotton shirt and red bibbed felt overalls. He has two toned brown glass eyes, a brown mohair head and ears with black stitched nose and mouth and a beige velvet muzzle. The hands and feet are rubber ( slight age deterioration as is typical ) and the clothes are sewn around the body and the pants are glued to the back of the heels of the feet. Any " Teddy Baby " bear is rare and desirable and the factory dressed Steiff figures are always hard to find. US$ 550.

5 3/4" ( 14cm ) gold mohair miniature Teddy with brown glass eyes, black stitched nose and mouth, and swivel joints at the neck, shoulders and hips. He wears a replacement ribbon necktie and has no actual felt paw pads ( as these smaller size bears never did) . Although he has no button in the ear and his face is slightly shorter than the later Steiff bears from the 1950's we feel relatively certain that due to known Steiff characteristics he is most likely an example from the late 1930's. The mohair is in excellent condition and would be a perfect accessory for a boy doll to hold. US$ 395.

This 6" ( 15cm ) gold mohair Steiff " Original Teddy " is from the early 1950's and is in pristine condition. He has his original paper Steiff chest tag, an aluminum button in left ear and is jointed at the neck, shoulders, and hips. He has brown glass eyes and as is typical with these miniature Steiff bears no felt paw pads . He is a sturdy and chubby little fellow and still retains his red silk ribbon bow around his neck. US$ 275.

Extremely rare free standing white Steiff bear, 15' ( 38cm ) long by 9" (23cm ) tall, with brown glass eyes, brown stitched nose and mouth as well as claws, with old Steiff button in the left ear with the " underscored F " marking. The mohair has some typical wear throughout but no totally bald spots and is relatively clean and white with original felt pads. He is from the late 1930's as was marketed by Steiff as " Liebchen " ( darling ). US$ SOLD.
